Plot
In a quaint California town during the summer of 1942, 14-year-old Homer Macauley strives to become the fastest bicycle telegraph messenger. With his older brother at war, Homer takes on the responsibility of caring for his widowed mother, older sister, and young brother, Ulysses. As he delivers messages filled with love, hope, and sorrow to the residents of Ithaca, he confronts a life-altering message that pushes him toward adulthood.
