Small Town Story (1953)

Plot

Canadian veteran Bob Regan returns to Oldchester, the English town where he served during the war. Reuniting with his friend Mike, who now manages the local football club, Bob learns that the team is fighting for promotion to the Third Division. Securing this promotion would mean a £25,000 windfall from the estate of a recently deceased supporter, Wallace Hammond. However, Hammond's unscrupulous nephew is determined to thwart their efforts, setting up a tense battle for the club’s future and the money that could change everything.
