The Box (2007)

Plot

Jane receives a haunting message from her late mother, urging her to visit a house in Bangkok and retrieve a mysterious trunk. The homeowner offers her shelter for the night, leading to unsettling revelations about the chest. After parting with a crate that held her mother’s memory, Jane is plagued by nightmares involving her parent and a cash register. Her quest to find the trunk leads her to a wealthy recluse, who initially appears benevolent but reveals a dark side as a murderous psychopath. His sinister intentions threaten to turn Jane into a mere plaything in his twisted game.
