Plot
In the final days of World War II, a band of young German boys is tasked with guarding a seemingly insignificant bridge in their village. As disillusioned Wehrmacht soldiers retreat from the advancing American forces, the boys remain fervently committed to the Nazi ideals of "blood and honor," choosing to defend the bridge despite its impending futility. This poignant narrative is inspired by Gregor Dorfmeister's West German anti-war novel of the same title.
