Plot
Rocklin, Colorado, in 1925 is marked by a harsh winter that shapes young Arturo Bandini's life. Despite his father's reckless spending at the Imperial Poolhall and an affair with a wealthy widow, Arturo's love for his family remains unwavering. He admires his devoted mother, Maria, and even accepts the quirks of his younger brother. Passionate about baseball, he eagerly anticipates spring, while also dreaming of a future in cinema. However, his affection for Rosa remains unreciprocated, adding a bittersweet note to his youthful aspirations.
