Plot

Pedro Opeka turned down a chance to pursue his childhood dream of playing professional soccer in Buenos Aires, opting instead to dedicate his life to missionary work in Madagascar, one of the world’s poorest nations. As the son of a bricklayer, he inspired families living in the largest landfill to learn how to construct their own homes, restoring their dignity in the process. Over three decades, Father Pedro has built a thriving community amid political chaos and poverty, with a mission to empower the children he helps, so they can one day uplift their own country.
