Plot

Young Nello and his grandfather live a modest yet joyful life delivering milk on the outskirts of Antwerp. Their lives take a turn when they rescue a battered Bouvier dog, whom they name Patrasche after Nello's late mother, Mary. As they nurse the dog back to health, Nello, inspired by his mother’s artistic talent, pursues his passion for drawing, with his friend Aloise serving as his muse and biggest supporter. Together, they navigate the challenges of life, finding solace and companionship in their bond with Patrasche.
