Saint Ralph (2005)

Plot

Set in Hamilton, Ontario, during 1954, this charming comedy-drama follows Ralph (Adam Butcher), a troubled ninth grader living alone while his mother lies in a coma. Often at odds with Father Fitzpatrick (Gordon Pinsent), the strict principal of his Catholic school, Ralph is seen as a misfit. However, he finds purpose in his bold quest to win the Boston Marathon, believing it could bring his mother back. With the encouragement of Father Hibbert (Campbell Scott), a former runner, Ralph faces skeptics and gathers support from an eclectic group of friends on his inspiring journey.
