Hood (2015)

Plot

After an eight-year military stint, RJ (Matt Singletary) returns to a transformed Chicago, where familiar streets now resemble the ravaged landscapes of war. His Uncle Richard (Curley Boo Johnson) shares the harsh realities of urban life—nighttime is perilous, dominated by gangs and crime, leaving trust in short supply. Striving to break the cycle of violence, RJ emerges as a modern-day Robin Hood. Teaming up with Father Benjamin Tuck (Malik Yoba), his childhood sweetheart Marian (Mahogany Monae), and fellow veterans, he sets out to reclaim the community from the grips of drug lords and gangs.
