Plot
During the Great Depression, Pete and Sidney are a devoted couple striving to save for their future together. They support their families financially while enduring the pressures of their long engagement. Each faces challenges with their mothers: Sidney's is emotionally distant and self-absorbed, while Pete's is overly dependent. As Sidney's mother pursues her own happiness, the strain on the couple grows. With financial hardships and personal struggles looming, can their love withstand the trials, or will they succumb to the pressures that threaten their dream of a brighter tomorrow, symbolized by their cherished song, "After Tomorrow"?
