Plot

Between 2000 and 2011, the tragic deaths of seven First Nations high school students in Thunder Bay shocked the community, with five bodies discovered in the area's rivers. Forced to leave their homes for education, these students faced systemic challenges. Tanya Talaga, an Anishinaabe/Polish Canadian journalist, highlights this heartbreaking reality in her acclaimed book, *Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death, and Hard Truths in a Northern City*. Returning to Thunder Bay, Talaga engages with families, Indigenous leaders, and resilient youth, exploring their strength and the fight against colonial injustices while seeking a hopeful path forward.
