Plot

In 17th-century Japan, a jaded samurai finds himself the last man standing in a plot to eliminate a puppet controlled by a nefarious villain aiming to seize the shogunate. An elder within the shogunate schemes to dominate Japan by installing Tsunashige, the brother of the Shogun, as the next leader. The nation’s most cunning strategist, Yamaga, orchestrates a plan to thwart the elder's ambitions. However, betrayal strikes, leading to the capture and torture of many in his conspiratorial group.
