California Love (2021)

Plot

Leon Watkins operates a community helpline in South Central LA, welcoming those in need. Among his frequent visitors is John Wesley Hunter, known as "Joker," a local gang leader. After a harrowing day that nearly costs him his life in a shoot-out, Joker seeks refuge with Leon. Their routine shifts dramatically when an unexpected woman arrives, eager to join Leon in his mission to uplift the community. Together, they challenge societal norms, confront deep-seated hatred, and navigate love and loss, ultimately striving to shed light on a hidden reality and create a lasting legacy.
