Plot

Henri Verdoux, once a respectable banker, finds himself unemployed and desperate to support his family. Resorting to sinister tactics, he targets wealthy widows, marrying them only to subsequently kill them for their fortunes. Despite his cunning, his calculated life of crime begins to unravel when he encounters two widows who disrupt his established pattern.
