Plot

Carlos Delargo, the exiled son of a Mandorran princess, returns to face murder charges. However, King Lorenzo, who strikingly resembles him, intervenes and frees him. When assassins hired by Napoleon attack the king, Delargo seizes the opportunity to assume the throne, urged on by the Prime Minister as part of a scheme to outsmart the conspirators. Amidst the chaos, he finds himself drawn to Princess Teresa, the king's fiancée, complicating his newfound power and loyalties in a time of betrayal and intrigue.
