Venus Drowning (2005)

Plot

After a suicide attempt, Dawn (Jodie Jameson) is sent to her family's seaside flat for healing. Struggling with heavy medication and alcohol, she seeks clarity by writing in her journal. During a solitary stroll on a desolate Norfolk beach, she discovers a dying mutant mermaid fetus, which she initially finds disgusting but soon becomes infatuated with, attempting to revive it at home. Milla, her Swedish friend, arrives for the weekend, and a night of drinking leads to unexpected intimacy. As the creature feeds off the surrounding energy, it begins to grow, pulling Dawn deeper into a surreal and hallucinogenic experience.
