Foreign Land (2016)

Plot

Alejandro Reis, known as Alex, faces a life-altering revelation when he learns he is not an American citizen, having been brought to the U.S. from Mexico as an infant. Meanwhile, Flora Hendricks, a Missouri native, decides to escape her mundane life but ends up arrested for shoplifting. Their paths converge when both are placed on the same deportation bus to Mexico. Upon arrival, Alex and Flora quickly realize they are ill-equipped for the harsh realities of Tijuana, grappling with the dangers posed by violent criminal gangs that dominate the region.
