Plot

Bourges captures the everyday life of a pharmacy situated in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, where the majority of clients rely on daily methadone doses under the watchful eye of the pharmacist. The pharmacy's architecture plays a pivotal role, creating distinct barriers of glass that separate the street from the pharmacy, as well as the pharmacist from her clients. This setup intensifies the emotional dynamics, revealing the challenges faced by both parties.
