The Beauty of the Devil (1950)

Plot

Henri Faust, a weary professor at a 1700s French university, grapples with the bitterness of aging as he prepares to retire after five decades. His despair catches the attention of Mephistopheles, a charming young man and Lucifer’s emissary, who offers Faust a tempting deal: eternal youth, wealth, and power in exchange for his soul. While Faust revels in the material gains of his new life, he hesitates to sign the pact. Meanwhile, Mephistopheles, now trapped in Faust’s old body, must cleverly manipulate him and thwart the love of a devoted gypsy girl who seeks to save his soul.
