Rübezahl - Master of the Mountains (1957)

Plot

For nearly a millennium, the mountain spirit Rübezahl has dwelled deep within the Giant Mountains, unseen by humans. Disheartened by their disbelief and rampant greed, he emerges to teach them a lesson with his magical powers. He punishes a cruel servant by harnessing him to a cart, using the whip himself. Greedy Klaus, who hoards gold, finds his riches transformed into stones. Seeking sustenance, Rübezahl, disguised as a carter, visits a tavern. When the gluttonous innkeeper pilfers half of his ordered scrambled eggs, Rübezahl demands a refund for the already paid meal.
