Plot

After winning the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic Feature in 1994 with 'What Happened Was...', Tom Noonan has made a return to filmmaking with his new independent project, SHAPE of SOMETHING SQUASHED, inspired by his recent stage success. The film centers on an aging actor, once in the spotlight, who is invited to participate in a crucial read-through for a play at a prestigious theater company. Unbeknownst to him, he's merely a stand-in for a reluctant star. As each character grapples with their aspirations, the tale unfolds with both humor and poignancy, highlighting the struggles of life on and off the stage.
