Plot

On Christmas Eve in 1944, Mary Bailey Hatch finds herself in despair over a crisis threatening her family’s legacy, the Bailey Building and Loan, following her father's death. Unbeknownst to her, her husband George and their children are fervently praying for her well-being. Their heartfelt pleas reach Joseph, the heavenly gatekeeper, who, faced with a shortage of angels, reluctantly assigns the inexperienced Clara Oddbody to assist Mary. Having spent two centuries in heaven without a solo assignment, Clara's mission could be her turning point as she seeks to guide Mary through this troubled time.
