In 1993, Washington State enacted a three-strikes law that condemned children to life sentences without parole, labeling them as irredeemable superpredators. However, this perception has proven misguided. Fast forward to 2020, and sixteen states still impose life sentences on minors. "Since I Been Down" highlights the resilience of these individuals, now approaching their forties, as they forge new paths toward justice and healing from behind bars. Through their stories, the documentary sheds light on the urgent need for reform and the potential for redemption within the prison system.
