Plot
Set against the backdrop of the early 1700s, the Hutsuls of the Carpathians endure harsh oppression under foreign rule. The Dovbush brothers, once united as opryshkos or mountain bandits, find themselves on opposing paths; one succumbs to greed, while Oleksa passionately defends his people. Amidst a surge of uprisings, the ruling aristocrats conspire to silence Oleksa and tarnish his growing legend. Their cunning strategy targets his greatest vulnerability—his love for Marichka. As tensions rise, the question remains: can Oleksa overcome betrayal and lead his people toward liberation?
