Eleven-year-old Mildred's world is shaken when her mother is hospitalized, prompting her estranged father, American magician Strawn Wise, to step in as her caretaker. Eager to connect with his bookish daughter, Strawn whisks Mildred away on a camping trip to the wilds of New Zealand. Their adventure quickly becomes a quest to discover the legendary Canterbury Panther, pushing the limits of their relationship and challenging them to forge a deeper bond amid the rugged beauty of nature.
