Plot

William Shatner takes on dual roles as Johnny Moon, a cowboy, and his violent twin, Notah, who believes he is the Comanche messiah destined to rally his people against the encroaching white settlers in the arid town of Rio Hondo. As Notah spirals deeper into his peyote-fueled delusions, Johnny, estranged from his brother, is determined to intervene. He must navigate a tense confrontation, choosing between peaceful persuasion and violent resolution to save his brother and the town from impending chaos.
