Plot

Laura Brummels is consumed by guilt over a boy's death she could have prevented, a consequence of her complicity with a corrupt political regime during her reporting career. After falling from grace, she finds herself imprisoned at Aquila, a notorious facility where annual floods lead to certain death. Amid her despair, Laura learns that one of the guards is the boy's killer, presenting her with an opportunity for vengeance. However, her plans are complicated by Joseph, a fellow inmate who has survived previous floods and seeks her help in executing a daring escape. Together, they must choose between revenge and survival.
