Plot

Susan Lane, a disciplined psychiatrist, dedicates herself to boosting the confidence of war veterans before heading back to her Chicago practice. Her disdain for impulsiveness clashes with the carefree spirit of her favored comic, "The Nixie." When she meets Michael Kent, an officer and the comic's creator, sparks fly, but not in a good way for Susan. Despite her initial rejection, Michael follows her to Chicago, enlisting her father's help to win her over. As Susan concocts a scheme to sideline him with a charming patient, she wonders if "The Nixie" might influence her heart after all.
