Plot

In 1965 Sicily, Lia, a vibrant young woman, finds herself captivated by Lorenzo, the heir to a powerful local family entwined with the Mafia. However, his controlling nature quickly turns her affections to disdain. When Lorenzo and his gang resort to kidnapping and coercion to force Lia into marriage, the complicity of the town’s authorities becomes evident. Determined to resist such brutal customs, Lia and her family bravely challenge the injustice, taking their battle for her autonomy to the courtroom amidst threats and violence, marking a fierce stand against oppressive traditions.
