Visual artist Doug Aitken ignites a discussion on the restrictive nature of cultural compartmentalization through his ambitious project, Station to Station. Traveling on a train across North America, Aitken assembles a dynamic collective of artists, musicians, and curators. This ever-evolving community collaborates on various artistic endeavors, producing recordings, films, and artworks while hosting ten unique events along the journey. Emphasizing a shift towards a more nomadic and less materialistic approach to creativity, Aitken’s experiment challenges traditional norms of art creation and exhibition, celebrating the vibrant synergy found in collaboration.
