Plot

Nineteen-year-old Cora returns to her hometown of Bucco, where her father serves as mayor. The town thrives on tourism fueled by Christian pilgrims who flock to witness the Virgin Mary's apparitions. As Cora immerses herself in preparations for the annual Virgin of Bucco festival, she becomes intrigued by a mysterious stranger. His arrival disrupts the town's peace and challenges her journey into adulthood, forcing Cora to confront her beliefs and the complexities of her life as the celebration draws near.
