Plot

Mary, influenced by her mother’s ambitions, is drawn into a dangerous relationship with the wealthy banker Harber. Her reckless actions nearly drive her fiancé to despair and entangle her with Harber's troubled son. A vivid dream forces Mary to confront her irresponsibility, paralleling the biblical figure Lea, who betrays an angel to pagan priests after her advances are spurned. In another vision, Mary rules Syria, only to face rebellion and condemn a devoted young man to death. Awakening from this nightmare, she rushes back to her lost love, seeking redemption and connection.
