Plot
Set in 1947, Madeleine, a hotel restaurant waitress and mother, finds herself drawn to François, a wealthy and educated student, during a chance encounter on the beach. Their chemistry is palpable, but both harbor hidden pasts that shape their desires and fears. While Madeleine yearns to escape her current life by pursuing a relationship with François, layers of François's own troubled history gradually unveil themselves, revealing what he seeks to escape. As their lives intertwine, both must confront the secrets they hold and the futures they envision together.
