In "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence," cyborg detective Batou takes on the troubling case of a string of murders linked to gynoids—life-like cyborgs that malfunction, commit homicide, and then self-destruct. These gynoids have a protective mechanism that activates their brains to safeguard their creator's software. However, one gynoid, which Batou previously disabled, contains an anomaly: a lingering file revealing a haunting plea for assistance, uttering the words, "Help me." As he delves deeper, Batou uncovers unsettling truths about the nature of consciousness and the implications of artificial life.
