Plot
In 1972, the tranquil resort town of Karuizawa, Nagano, becomes the center of a hostage crisis when radicals from Japan's Red Army seize a woman. Officer Atsuyuki Sassa steps up to manage the tense situation, facing numerous obstacles. He must navigate the frigid winter weather, reconcile differing views between the Tokyo Metropolitan Police and local Nagano authorities, and win over public sentiment to access the lodge where the hostage is held. Sassa's determination is tested as he strives to resolve the standoff and ensure the woman's safety.
