Plot
Melinda, a high school freshman, has become mute after reporting a traumatic incident at a summer party. Her former friends abandon her, labeling her a traitor, while her preoccupied parents remain oblivious to her pain. Isolated and burdened by her secret—she was raped by the charming senior Andy—she struggles to cope. Amid her turmoil, Melinda discovers a refuge in her art class, where Mr. Freeman encourages her to express herself and confront her trauma. As she navigates her silence, she slowly begins to reclaim her voice and sense of self.
