Icíar and Fernando, both young and grieving, navigate the profound loss of a parent in their respective eras. Fernando, living in 1977 Bilbao, grapples with the abduction of his father by the ETA, while Icíar, in 2011 Navarra, confronts the harsh reality of her mother’s terminal cancer. Despite their shared pain, the distance between their times prevents them from connecting or sharing coping mechanisms. As they each struggle with their trauma, the weight of their individual experiences highlights the complexities of loss and the isolation it can bring.
