Wet Gold (1984)

Plot

Laura, a waitress, encounters a drunken old man named Sampson, who captivates her with tales of a sunken ship laden with gold. Despite her skeptical boyfriend Barnes' warnings, Laura becomes convinced of the treasure's existence after discovering a matching newspaper article. Eager to find the gold, she persuades Barnes, Sampson, and dive shop owner Keating to embark on an expedition from Key West aboard a boat Barnes is tasked with maintaining. As they dive and uncover the riches, tensions rise, revealing how the allure of wealth alters their relationships and true selves.
