Plot

Lt. Franta Slama, a skilled pilot in the Czech Air Force, takes on the mentorship of the talented Karel Vojtisek, forging a strong bond. Their camaraderie is tested when Nazi Germany invades Czechoslovakia in 1939, prompting them to flee to England and join the RAF alongside fellow Czech exiles. During a mission, Karel crashes and encounters Susan, a young woman whose husband serves in the Navy. As Karel falls for her, their brief romance shifts when Susan finds herself drawn to the more experienced Franta, straining their friendship amid the complex dynamics of love and rivalry.
