Plot

Charlie Chaplin stars as a hapless janitor who faces dismissal after a mishap sends his bucket of water splashing onto the chief banker, played by Tandy. As he navigates the fallout from this blunder, a junior manager, portrayed by Dillon, grapples with his own troubles—namely, financial pressure from a bookie due to unpaid gambling debts.
