Saved by the Belle (1939)

Plot

Stranded in the earthquake-prone tropical nation of Valeska, three bumbling salesmen struggle to sell fur coats to uninterested locals. Their fortunes take a turn for the worse when a telegram instructs them to "get rid of present wardrobe," leading officials to mistakenly suspect them of plotting against President Ward Robey. With the help of the stunning revolutionary Rita, they narrowly escape execution and are tasked with delivering crucial plans to the resistance leader. A mix-up with a rolled-up calendar nearly seals their fate, but Rita saves the day by presenting the actual documents just in time.
