Plot

A peace treaty between the Colombian government and FARC rebels promises an end to decades of violence, prompting 30-year-old Yira to return to her homeland after a decade in Cuba. Now a mother herself, she hopes to create a nurturing environment for her daughter, unlike her own troubled upbringing under political turmoil. Yira confronts her mother, Ruby, seeking to persuade her to join them in Canada for safety. However, Ruby grapples with her commitment to her ideals and community. As violence persists in this fragile peace, she faces a heart-wrenching choice between family and her people.
