Plot
Ted and Marion Cole's world shatters following the tragic loss of their two teenage sons in a car accident. Marion retreats emotionally from Ted and Ruth, their surviving daughter. In an attempt to cope, Ted, a renowned author, brings on a young assistant named Eddie, who bears an uncanny resemblance to one of their late boys. As the couple's relationship deteriorates, Marion embarks on a secret romance with Eddie, while Ted finds solace in an affair with their neighbor, Evelyn. The family's bonds are tested as they navigate their grief and new entanglements.
