Waiting for Dublin (2007)

Plot

On New Year's Eve 1944, American pilot Mike Clarke unwittingly wagers $10,000 with Al Capone's nephew, claiming he can shoot down five enemy planes. Running low on fuel, he lands in a secluded Irish village, only to discover he's stranded and cut off from the war. With time running out to fulfill his bet and save himself, Mike forms bonds with the quirky locals and meets fiery redhead Maggie. As they grow close, she reveals that battles can be fought on the ground, guiding him in both love and strategy to win the bet.
