Oscar, a middle-aged man with a tumultuous spirit, is a washed-up writer who has lost his way in life. Living with family and without a job, he roams the streets of Medellín, often inebriated, bemoaning the decline of literature in his homeland. He embodies the stereotype of the tortured artist, weighed down by his own disillusionment. Yet, when a chance to guide a young student arises, it presents him with a potential path to redemption—if only he can manage not to ruin it.
