Plot
Is the foundation of love built on deceit? Jake Bianski operates a fish market in North Boston, deeply immersed in Italian culture. For years, he's pined for Isabella, his former flame who is now happily married with children and has no interest in rekindling their romance. Despite this, he misleads others by claiming she is still his girlfriend, including Marisa, a veterinarian whom his colleagues introduce him to at an Italian singles event. Initially attracted, Marisa pulls back upon hearing about his so-called girlfriend. As their friendship develops, Jake begins to see that reality might hold more promise than his fantasies, but he wonders what might happen if Isabella suddenly wants him back, especially if Marisa turns out to share his non-Italian heritage.
