Plot

Set against the backdrop of World War I, Stan and Ollie find themselves drafted into the U.S. Army in 1917. During their service, they form a bond with fellow soldier Eddie Smith, who tragically loses his life in combat. After the war concludes, the duo heads to New York City, determined to locate Eddie's young daughter and reunite her with her family. Their mission quickly becomes a comical challenge as they navigate the vast number of Smiths in the city, encountering a series of humorous and chaotic situations along the way.
