Plot
Editor Jane Grant faces a dilemma when her cousin's wedding invitation arrives with a plus-one requirement. To impress her high school nemesis, Natasha Nutley, she fabricates a story about her ideal boyfriend—who doesn't actually exist. When Aunt Ida learns of the fictional beau, she insists on meeting him at the wedding. With time running out, Jane embarks on a whirlwind of dates, desperately searching for a suitable man to bring along and maintain her ruse. Hilarity ensues as Jane navigates the challenges of love and deception in her quest for the perfect date.
