Plot

Thirteen-year-old Sam Gribley, inspired by Thoreau’s philosophies, opts to abandon urban life for a summer in the Canadian wilderness. Yearning for independence and adventure, he sets out to prove his ability to survive alone after his parents’ promised trip falls through. Embracing nature, Sam learns essential skills while forging a deep connection with the environment.
