Amid the tumult of the Civil War, a spirited youth named Billy leaves his home to join the Northern Army as a drummer. During a fierce battle, he suffers injuries and is captured by enemy forces. Displaying remarkable bravery, he manages to break free and carries a crucial message back to his commanding officer. Tragically, his courageous act costs him his life.
